This is a third-person narrative, chronicling the events that take place in Tia Kapoor’s life. Tia, fondly known as T, is a twenty something, not-so-regular, working female. Despite owning a celebrity surname, Tia is anything but one (the drama in her life, sadly, is). She likes to call herself the black coffee in a fancy restaurant: simple, ordinary, no-nonsense and totally hassle-free. A dark chocolate addict, she is an absolute fanatic of British and American sitcoms especially one involving Carrie Bradshaw.

When she isn’t killing it as the subeditor for Classic Vanity, a lifestyle magazine; and keeping her mother’s marriage topic initiators at bay, she can be found lounging with Benedict. Nicknamed ‘a crazed feminist’, by her best friends Rachana and Priyanka; together, the three of them are forever on the lookout for gourmet restaurants and patisseries. Witty to a fault, and never one to beat around the bush: Tia loves talking to her pet dog, Benedict and selectively listening to her inner voice ramblings. Basically being a 21st-century citizen and owning it.

A piece of the author’s monologue:

This novella started as an experiment when I was on the brink of turning 20 and was completely floored by Carrie Bradshaw and her thunderous trio of friends. This is the first time that I am making the novella public. As much as my present self wants to edit this and make it age and time appropriate, I am going to show some serious restraint. Some parts of this novella may be too childish, dewy-eyed or too naïve, but I’d request you to indulge me, every week for the next 15 odd weeks and let me know what you think about it. Think of this as my passion project, six years too late in the making.
